What is soft washing?
Soft washing uses low pressure combined with appropriate cleaning solutions to safely remove algae, mildew, dirt and organic buildup from siding and other delicate surfaces, without the risk of damage that comes with blasting them with high pressure. Learn more on our House Washing page.
Is pressure washing safe for siding?
It depends on the surface and method. For siding, we use soft washing — low pressure plus the right cleaning solution — rather than high pressure, since blasting siding directly can force water behind panels or damage the material. Higher-pressure equipment is reserved for tougher surfaces like concrete.
What surfaces can Anderson Exterior Cleaning clean?
We clean vinyl, brick and fiber cement (Hardie board) siding, concrete driveways, sidewalks and patios, windows (interior and exterior), decks, fences, and the interior of gutters. We do not currently clean stucco or roofs.
How often should a house be washed?
Most homes benefit from a wash every one to two years, though it varies based on shade, humidity, and how much algae or mildew buildup you're seeing. We're happy to take a look and give you our recommendation as part of your free estimate.
Do I need to be home during service?
Not necessarily — many homeowners aren't home during their service. We'll work out what's most convenient for you when we schedule your appointment.
Do you use bleach or cleaning solutions?
We use professional cleaning solutions suited to each surface as part of our soft washing process. If you have specific questions about what's used on your property, just ask during your estimate.
How are plants and landscaping protected?
We take care to protect landscaping, plants and surrounding surfaces during every job, including rinsing as needed around planted areas.
How long does a typical house wash take?
It varies depending on the size of your home and the scope of work. We can give you a better sense of timing once we've seen your property during your free estimate.

Yes — we offer pressure washing and concrete cleaning for driveways, sidewalks, walkways and patios using commercial-grade surface cleaning equipment.
Do you offer exterior window cleaning?

Do you clean gutters?
Yes — we offer traditional gutter cleaning, removing leaves, debris and buildup from the interior of your gutters. It's a convenient add-on to house washing or another service.
